Attica Recreation Inc is close to my heart. As a lifelong student of life, I have learned the value of community engagement. I have been married to my wonderful husband Troy for over 20 years and together we have raised three amazing children. Now, we are blessed with three beautiful grandchildren. My family is my pride and joy, and I believe that strong families create strong communities.
For over two decades, I have volunteered with the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters' Association Auxiliary. This experience has fueled my passion for service and dedication to our town. I currently serve on several local boards, and I am excited about the work we are doing to bring more recreational opportunities to Attica. Imagine with me for a moment the laughter of children splashing in a new pool, families gathering at a community center, and kids enjoying a splash pad at Ravine Park. These are not just dreams but goals we are actively working toward. We are committed to making these facilities a reality, enhancing the quality of life for both children and adults in our community. I can hardly wait for the day we hold the grand opening of our new aquatic center at Ravine Park. It will be a celebration of community spirit and the hard work we have all put in. Let’s make Attica the place to be together.
I was born and raised in Attica, IN. I attended Attica for all of my childhood education and later continued my studies at Ivy Tech and Ball State University, earning my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. I am married to my husband, Gabe, and together we are raising eight children. After eight years in the public school classroom, along with many years in Early Childhood Education prior to that, I made the decision to step away from traditional teaching. I now homeschool our children while also helping run our family’s local small business.
Being both a homeschooling mother and small business owner has given me an even deeper understanding of the needs facing families in our community. I am passionate about supporting our youth and creating meaningful opportunities for them to have positive outlets close to home. With a heart for service, a strong work ethic, and firsthand experience balancing education, business, and family life, I am committed to bringing local concerns to light and working toward practical, thoughtful solutions. I truly believe our board is made up of a strong team, each bringing unique strengths to serve our community well.
I was born and raised in Attica and recently returned in April 2024, to start my new position as the Primary Care Physician at the Harrison Steel's WeCare Health Clinic. I feel most passionate about improving the physical and mental health of the community by adding recreational activities that foster social gatherings as well as physical activity in every generation.
I grew up attending the Attica City Pool and Attica Park Program and took one of my first jobs as a teenager by lifeguarding there. Bringing back the Attica Pool and invigorating it with new pool programming is the first goal of Attica Recreation Inc. In addition to this, I am excited to help develop adult recreational leagues and outings for the community like group hikes, bike rides, cooking classes and/or Lafayette baseball games. As a lofty goal, I would love to help get an indoor track and rec center in town one day. I am excited to help bring new things to my hometown.
I am a lifelong resident of Attica and a proud member of the class of 1995 from AHS; I can honestly say that this city and its people hold a special place in my heart. From my childhood memories spent playing at the parks to the vibrant community events that bring us all together, Attica is truly a gem. As a board member of Attica Heritage Days and the Indiana State Festival Secretary, I have seen firsthand the power of community spirit.
Now, as the Treasurer of Attica Recreation, I am thrilled about the exciting plans we have for the future. We are not just focused on maintaining our beautiful facilities but also on enhancing the experiences for families and children in our community. Whether it’s through new programs, events, or simply working to get a new pool, we are dedicated to making Attica a better place for everyone. I believe recreation is not just about sports or activities. It is about creating memories, building friendships, and fostering a sense of belonging. So let us come together, embrace our shared love for Attica, and work hand in hand to continue to make our city a vibrant and welcoming place. I am excited about what lies ahead, and I invite all of you to join us on this journey. Thank you for your support of Attica Recreation Inc.
I have been a resident of Attica since first grade. I attended Attica schools and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. I am a past member of Attica Jaynettes and Tri Kappa. Presently a board member of Attica Rec, Inc., Secretary of the Attica Park board, Treasurer of Attica Pickleball Assoc., and Lafayette Country Friends line dance group, where I continue to DJ and teach line and partner dancing.

I moved from my former home in Southern Montgomery County in the fall of 2012 to make my new home and life in Attica after meeting my fiancé. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Flex-N-Gate Corporation, currently serving as the Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator at the Masterguard facility in Veedersburg. I proudly serve this great community as the Executive Director of Attica Heritage Days, Inc. I am also honored to serve on the Indiana State Festivals Association (ISFA) state board of directors.
I have always believed in a life philosophy of “leave it better than you found it”; this is exactly my approach to all of my life’s endeavors, to do my part to leave your workplace, home, or community in better shape than you found it. I am excited to be rolling up my sleeves and going to work, utilizing my business expertise and love of community, to do my part in helping shape a better tomorrow in the Attica community. All ages and walks of life must have the opportunities and resources to enhance their mental, physical, and general social wellness in a rural, underserved community such as ours. That is why I am passionate about working alongside my fellow board members and the leaders of the greater community to bring to fruition our vision and to fulfill our mission.

I was born and raised in Attica, IN. I grew up enjoying the outdoor parks and pools with my family and friends. During my teenage years, I lifeguarded at both pools, and during my college years, I managed the City Pool. I always loved seeing how much joy the pool brought to the kids and want my own kids to have similar experiences. Being able to contribute to our community through providing recreational opportunities is really important to me. I hope that through our board, we are able to create outdoor and indoor opportunities for all ages to enjoy!
